John Davies, Männerkopf, Harz bemalt John Davies, 1946 Chesire, britischer Bildhauer und Maler, hier: Männlicher Kopf mit markanter Gesichtslineatur, Harz bemalt, 23 x 12 cm, montiert auf grau lackierten Holzsockel, Gesamt- H 30 cm, am Boden sign.u.dat. 1987, Von 1963 - 1967 studierte John Davies Malerei an den Colleges of Art in Hull und Manchester und gewann nach zwei Jahren an der Slade School of Fine Art ein Bildhauerstipendium am Gloucester College of Art. 1970 gewann er den Sainsbury Award. Die Tate Gallery besitzt Davies‘ Werk „The Tate’s Young Man“ von 1969-70. Seine ersten Skulpturen wurden 1972 in der Whitechapel Art Gallery gezeigt und erregten wegen ihres verstörenden Realismus Aufmerksamkeit. ("British artist John Davies was born in 1946.
